About Oasis
Arts Brookfield, Brookfield Place, New York (2019)
Arts Brookfield commissioned Third Rail Projects to create a new series of site-specific, multidisciplinary, pop-up performances. The story unfolded with five performers who unexpectedly found themselves swept into a mirage, an “Oasis.” Over the course of ten daily episodes, the performers found themselves uniting in unexpected ways, chasing the promise of escape only to discover that they wielded the power to create their own sanctuary. This immersive performance aimed to surprise and delight the public and enable them to see the Winter Garden through a new lens. After a two-week series of lunchtime vignettes, the full-length work culminated in a performance on the evening of Friday, April 12.
