Immersive Performance Skills: Shifting Landscapes
w/ Rebekah Morin

Wednesday August 16 – 11:00am - 2:00pm
at The Kingsland Ward

This three-hour workshop, led by Rebekah Morin, focuses on building the spatial awareness required for site-specific and immersive works. Dancing through a crowd at a street festival, leading and following fellow performers across vast distances, and guiding an audience, all require a heightened awareness of a constantly shifting landscape. Participants will play with movement scores that explore various non-verbal ways of leading and following, listening and responding, and group decision making. A dance or theater background is not required, but a willingness to move and explore is a requisite.

w/ Rebekah Morin

Wednesday August 23 – 11:00am - 2:00pm
at The Kingsland Ward

This workshop explores the unique nature of duets, both with fellow performers and with the audience as scene partner. Listening and responding to one person requires different modulation of attention and energy than ensemble work. Participants will explore their spatial relationships, visual focus, exchange of energy, and physical contact when engaged in duets, using a variety of movement scores and games. A dance or theater background is not required, but a willingness to move and explore is a requisite.
