TREE (2007) by Zach Morris, Tom Pearson, and J Day received a grant from the Burning Man Art Festival 2007. The installation is made of metal scrollwork, open panel Wardian Cases, brushed aluminum agaves, and a square wooden base housing an upside down EL wire flower garden.

The work was built in collaboration with Jesse Green, Tom Pearson Sr., Ian Corbitt, Christopher Cummings, Kathleen Fitzgerald, Daniela Morell, and a team of volunteers. It was installed in The Mangrove, a collection of tree sculptures encircling the Green Man Pavillion. It was closed off briefly due to arson and the early burning of the man during the total lunar eclipse, but no harm was done and access was restored almost immediately. The picture below was taken as the first man was being brought down to be rebuilt and replaced.

At night, burners were drawn by the red beckoning keyhole that revealed the EL wire flower garden within.
